According to the SF Signal blog, my Luff Imbry novel, The Other, is on a short list of three for the inaugural A.E. Van Vogt Award.
The other two finalists are Lady of Mazes by Karl Schroeder and Alphanauts by Brian J. Clarke. The award is presented by the Winnipeg Science Fiction Association and is named for Canada’s only SFWA grandmaster.

Congratulations on being shortlisted, good luck in the final. I had read Van Vogt many, many years ago, and had never known he was Canadian.

I couldn’t figure out who judges the nominees (or who shortlisted them). If it’s by popular vote, then Schroeder is likely, as he’s published by Tor. If, on the other hand, the judges have any taste whatsoever, The Other is a shoe-in.
I haven’t heard anything about it since the original announcement in April. We’ll just have to wait and see.
